Golden Axe for Sega Genesis (Last Updated 3/24/21)

In case you don’t know Golden Axe is a side-scrolling beat ‘em up hack ‘n slash probably set in the mythological world of the Middle Ages. It can be played 1 player or 2 players, and when playing 2 players the 2 players don’t alternate, they play simultaneously and they can accidentally or on purpose hurt each other both in the co-op mode as well as in the vs. mode called “the duel.”

The different ways you can play this game are: buy the Sega Genesis cartridge and it should work in any system that plays Sega Genesis games and it’s one of the 80 built-in games in our AtGames Sega Genesis and we’re sure it would also work in its port to play Sega Genesis cartridges if someone wanted to use a Game Genie. We’re sure it will also work with a Retron 3 and Retron 5 since those also have a port for Sega Genesis cartridges as well. It’s also on a compilation disc for PS3 called “Sonic’s Ultimate Genesis Collection” but the codes for it might be different than the ones for the same game for Sega Genesis and for the PS3 disc there’s no way to use a Game Genie.

The easiest way to beat the game is first go to options and set the life meter to 5 bars (the default is 3 (and 3, 4, and 5 are the only options)), then go to arcade mode then use the level select code and select level 8 then use the 9 continues code then pick your character. You are then right at the boss of the whole game the Death Bringer and he has 2 skeleton henchmen with him and he has all sorts of magical powers. After you defeat him his 2 skeleton henchmen die at the same time and then you have just rescued the king and princess and they say “Thank you gallant one” and some other stuff then it shows the cast (all the characters in the game both good and bad) and their names and stats then you see the credits, and then if you play the game again you don’t continue with the codes that you used or the lives you had left, you have to reenter the codes if you want to use the codes again.

Level Select:
Select arcade mode and then Hold Down+Left+B and then press Start at the character selection screen. A number 1 will then appear in the top left of screen and then press Up or Down to select from 1-8 each number representing the number of a level.

Nine Continues:
Select arcade mode and then Hold Down+Left+A+C and then release the buttons then press Start at the character selection screen.

To Start 2 Player Mode:
Press Start on controller 2 at the title screen.
