T2: The Arcade Game for Sega Genesis (Last Updated 3/24/21)

In case you don’t know T2: The Arcade Game is a side-scrolling first person shootem’ and “T2” stands for “Terminator 2.” It can be played 1 player or 2 players, and when playing 2 players the 2 players don’t alternate, they play simultaneously and there’s no way to accidentally or on purpose hurt each other or get in each other’s way. For the Sega Genesis it can be played with controllers or the Menacer (a type of light gun).

The different ways you can play this game are: buy the Sega Genesis cartridge and it should work in any system that plays Sega Genesis games and it works great in our AtGames Sega Genesis (It has 80 built-in games but not T2: The Arcade Game, it works in its port to play Sega Genesis cartridges) and we’re sure it will also work with a Retron 3 and Retron 5 since those also have a port for Sega Genesis cartridges as well. There’s also an SNES cartridge and Game Boy cartridge version of this game you can get but the codes for those are different than the ones for the same game for Sega Genesis. For the SNES it can be it can be played with controllers or the Super Scope (a type of light gun). And you also can buy the arcade machine, it has 2 light guns that you shoot but no codes that we know of.

The easiest way to beat the game is use the code that lets you change levels, skip all of level 1, play level 2 until you get the extra life (It’s shaped like a gold coin) in the light near the beginning of the level then skip the rest of the level, play level 3 until you get the extra life in the far right crate right at the beginning of the level then skip the rest of the level, skip all of level 4, play level 5 and start collecting as many rockets as you can, (but don’t bother collecting rockets for the levels before this one because they don’t transfer to this half of the game) until your energy runs low (and make sure to get the extra life Sarah Conner puts on the floor for you) then skip to level 6 and also collect as many rockets as you can and when your energy is running low skip to the next level, skip all of level 7, and then you’re on level 8 which is the last level and you will then have 7 lives (instead of 4) and it has 2 parts, the first part you are trying to lower the temperature of the liquid terminator enough freeze him to then get to the second part. You have the best odds of beating the game if you just ignore the terminator and collect rockets and let him kill you 2 or 3 times, then you get 25 rockets each time you die in addition to the rockets you collected then start attacking him until he freezes. Make sure to save at least a 100 rockets for the second part of the level. The first part of the second part of the level the terminator goes for John Conner (and if he kills John Conner you have to go back to the first part of the level and freeze the liquid terminator all over again) and you keep shooting him until he reshapes 4 times then he goes for you and you have to shoot him in the head with rockets causing visible damage 8 times (aim for his eyes after he stops moving) then he goes for John Conner again then he’s at the back and instead of shotgun shells raining for the ceiling it’s a grenade launcher. Get the grenade launcher and shoot the terminator and do so very fast because he won’t be at the back for long. Then you have just beaten the game and the credits roll.

Level Skip:
Up, Down, Left, Right, Up, Down, Left, Right at the title screen and if you have entered the code correctly you will hear Arnold say the word “excellent.” Then to skip to the next level pause the game during game play and press B+C to jump to the next level and it will work on any level and at any point during the level except the last level where it won’t work at all.

Other game code websites say if you have a controller with auto-fire capability and use it for the main gun to will keep firing at full blast and not slow down but we don’t have a controller with auto-fire capability to test this.
