Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles in Time for SNES (Last Updated 3/24/21)

In case you don’t know Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles in Time is a side-scrolling beat ‘em up, and “SNES” stands for “Super Nintendo Entertainment System.” It can be played 1 player or 2 players, and when playing 2 players the 2 players don’t alternate, they play simultaneously and there’s no way to accidentally or on purpose hurt each other.

The different ways you can play this game are: buy the standalone SNES cartridge and it should work in any system that plays SNES games. Buy the Super 102 in 1 Multicart for SNES (where it’s titled “TMNT IV - Turtle” and is the North American version) or the Super 100 in 1 Multicart for SNES (where it’s titled “Ninja Turtles IV” and also is the North American version) and they work in original SNES systems and all Retron systems except the Retron 1 (since it does not have a SNES game port) and the Retron 5 and they’re what we have and they work great in our Retron 2.

Ten Lives:
Highlight the “Option” selection on the title screen then real fast press Up(2), Down(2), Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A on controller two, then Start on controller one. The “Rest” option (lives option) on the options screen can now be set to a maximum of 10 instead of the usual maximum of 7.

One Player Extra Continues:
Press Start on controller two just before losing your last life with no continues remaining, game play can now be continued as player two with the continues total reset to full.

Alternate Music:
Enter sound test mode from the option screen. Set the sound test to the “Staff” selection and press B, Y.

Level Select (for Japanese version only):
Press Up(2), Down(2), Left, Right, Left, Right, L, R on controller two at the title screen then start a one player or two player game before the picture fades out then press up or down to adjust what level you want.
